1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to DoseTail, including the DoseTail mobile app, the DoseTail website, and related support communications. In this policy, “DoseTail,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the DoseTail app and service.
DoseTail is designed to help pet owners manage medication reminders, refill alerts, appointments, vaccinations, symptoms, weight records, health notes, and vet-ready reports. It is not a veterinary practice and does not replace professional veterinary advice.
2. Information you may enter in DoseTail
DoseTail may handle information you choose to add to the app, including:
- Pet profile details, such as name, species, breed, date of birth, sex, photo, weight, microchip details, insurance details, allergies, and medical notes.
- Medication details, such as medication name, dose, unit, frequency, start time, duration, end date, stock quantity, refill threshold, skipped-dose reasons, and dose history.
- Health records, such as vet appointments, vaccinations, symptoms, diary notes, weight entries, and exported report content.
- Notification preferences, such as whether reminders are enabled, whether sensitive notification details are hidden, and whether you prefer 24-hour time.
- Subscription status and purchase-related signals needed to unlock premium access.
3. How your information is used
DoseTail uses the information you enter to provide the app’s core features, including:
- Creating medication schedules and calculating upcoming, due, snoozed, skipped, missed, and completed doses.
- Sending medication, appointment, vaccination, and refill reminders when notifications are enabled.
- Tracking medication stock and showing refill alerts when you choose to use stock tracking.
- Maintaining pet health records and generating PDF or data exports that you choose to create.
- Remembering app preferences, such as notification and display settings.
- Checking purchase and subscription status through Apple’s in-app purchase system.
4. Local storage and device processing
DoseTail is intended to keep pet health information on your device unless you choose to export or share it, or unless a specific app feature clearly tells you otherwise. Your medication schedules, pet records, reminders, and reports are created from information you enter into the app.
Because the app stores important pet care information locally, deleting the app, erasing your device, or changing devices may remove locally stored records unless your device backup or a future sync feature preserves them.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, DoseTail uses iOS notification permissions to remind you about medication doses, appointments, vaccinations, and refill-related events. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Some reminders may include pet or medication names so they are useful at the right time. If you enable the app’s setting to hide sensitive notification details, DoseTail uses more general notification wording.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
DoseTail subscriptions are handled through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple may process payment details, transaction identifiers, subscription status, refunds, cancellations, and renewal information according to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
DoseTail does not receive your full card number or Apple ID password. The app may use purchase status information from Apple to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and help you manage access.
7. Exports and sharing
DoseTail may let you export information, such as PDF vet reports or app data files. An export can contain sensitive pet health details, medication history, symptoms, notes, appointment information, and other records you selected.
Once you export, save, send, print, upload, or share a report outside DoseTail, the receiving app, person, cloud service, printer, email provider, or storage location is responsible for how that copy is handled. Only share exports with people and services you trust.
8. Website information
When you visit the DoseTail website, standard technical information may be processed by hosting and security providers, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, referring page, approximate region, and request time. This information helps deliver the website, protect it from abuse, and understand whether pages are working properly.
The current DoseTail website is a static marketing site. It does not require you to create an account or enter pet health information on the website.
9. Third-party services
DoseTail may rely on third-party platforms or services to operate the app and website, including:
- Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, device permissions, and iOS notifications.
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, delivery, performance, and security.
- Device operating system services, such as local storage, file sharing, printing, and notification controls.
These third parties process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
10. Data retention
Pet records and medication history remain in the app until you edit or delete them, or until the app data is removed from your device. Exported files remain wherever you save or share them until you delete those copies from the relevant location.
Website logs and hosting security records may be retained by hosting providers for a limited period according to their operational and security practices.
11. Your choices
You can control your information in several ways:
- Edit or delete pet details, medication records, reminders, appointments, vaccines, symptoms, notes, and weight entries inside the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in DoseTail or in iOS Settings.
- Choose whether notification previews show pet and medication names.
- Choose whether to use stock tracking and refill alerts for a medication.
- Choose whether to export reports or data files, and where those files are shared or stored.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple’s subscription management tools.
12. Security
DoseTail uses reasonable technical safeguards for the type of information handled by the app, including platform-level protections provided by iOS. Some exported files may use file protection where supported by the device.
No app, device, network, or storage method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. You should protect your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, keep iOS up to date, and be careful when exporting or sharing pet health reports.
13. Children’s privacy
DoseTail is intended for pet owners and caregivers, not for children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through DoseTail, please contact us using the support contact shown in the App Store listing.
14. International use
If you use DoseTail or visit the DoseTail website from outside the country where the app is operated, your information may be processed in locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as DoseTail changes. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we may provide a more prominent notice in the app, on the website, or through the App Store listing.
16. Contact
For privacy questions, support requests, or concerns about your information, contact DoseTail using the support contact shown on the App Store listing.
